David's brother, John Jones, Gent. of (Blaen) Cwmcamarch, Llanfihangel Abergwesyn, (Plate 2) was also a Congregational preacher. His will made in 1735 refers to his wife Ann (he died in 1736, she in 1738), fourth son David, fifth son Peter, two other sons Benjamin and Joshua (possibly the black sheep, as his debts had to be paid), and granddaughters Theodosia and Ruhamah Jones.10
Family tradition has it that the six-foot Peter was at birth small enough to be put in a quart pot!
John and Ann had also a daughter Ruhamah, who married the Llanwrtyd gentleman John Lloyd of Dinas.
One of their grandsons was the adventurous Captain John Lloyd of the East India Company, whose memorial tablet in old St David's church, Llanwrtyd tells some of his dramatic story.
